
Marianne has over 20 years of experience in the field of Indigenous Child Welfare.
She has served the community through leadership roles at Dilico Anishinabek Family Services, Kunuwanimano Child and Family Services, Community Living Thunder Bay and Ontario Native Women’s Association.
Marianne has been involved in mandating Indigenous agencies and was seconded to the Child Welfare Secretariat in 2005 as a Senior Policy Analyst to develop the guidelines for Customary Care and revise regulations pertaining to Part X of the CFSA.
Additionally, Marianne prepared and delivered a course curriculum for the Native Social Services Worker Program at OSHKI-PIMACHE-O-WIN Education & Training Institute.
As a member of BMG Indigenous Marianne has participated in engagement on various projects as well as co-facilitating on a project with the Association of Native Child and Family Service Agencies of Ontario that culminated in development of a Framework for Indigenous Training for New Hires in Child Well-Being Agencies in Ontario.
Marianne is Anishinabe and a member of Pic River First Nation, a mother of two boys and grandmother to five beautiful grandchildren. She spends her spare time in her flower gardens and with her dog.
