Our Reconciliation Services

“The road we travel is equal in importance to the destination we seek. There are no shortcuts. When it comes to truth and reconciliation we are forced to go the distance”.

Chief Justice Murray Sinclair, Chief Commissioner of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada.

Reconciliation is an ongoing process through which Indigenous peoples, the Crown and all Canadians work cooperatively to establish and maintain a mutually respectful framework for living together, with a view to fostering strong, healthy, and sustainable Indigenous nations within a strong Canada.

Our work with organizations uses the principles from The United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act as the framework for Reconciliation. Indigenous Elders and Traditional Knowledge Keepers guide us on the ethics of Reconciliation and the best ways of incorporating Indigenous knowledge systems as essential to the reconciliation process.

Reconciliation requires political will, joint leadership, trust-building, accountability, and transparency.

We work in collaboration with non-Indigenous organizations in their reconciliation journey through:

  • Leading Strategic Planning that incorporates an Equity and Reconciliation Framework.
  • Facilitating Reconciliation Dialogue Workshops and Circle Discussions to assist your organization in having safe and impactful conversations that will advance your reconciliation efforts.
  • Providing Training and Supports for board, staff and volunteers on the history and legacy of residential schools and the importance of decolonization and Indigenization.
  • Conducting internal assessments of programs and services and recommending changes designed to enhance cultural safety and relevance for Indigenous program service users.
  • Exploring different ways of creating and implementing your Reconciliation Action Plan.

Accessing funding to deliver programs and supports for individuals, families, and community can be a daunting process.

We have expertise in researching where available sources of funding can be accessed. In addition to the federal and provincial government, there are many corporate and private foundations across Canada. There is funding available we can help you to obtain in the following areas:

  • Health and Social Services.
  • Prevention and Early Intervention Programs.
  • Treatment Programs.

We can collaborate with you to identify your funding needs and mentor your staff in the application process.
