Marion Roberts

Marion is from North-eastern Ontario and is a band member of Timiskaming First Nation. As an Indigenous consultant Marion has extensive experience working in First Nation communities and with organizations in health and allied services including child welfare.

 Her experience includes community engagement, strategic planning, community capacity assessment and development, service model design and board governance training. In these roles she has supported and facilitated the development of community-based services, as well as leading engagement processes between multiple service streams to plan effectively as partners in delivery of needed services to communities.

During the past several years a primary focus of her work has been facilitating the development of First Nation communities in the development of their plans for capacity development and funding to deliver their own child and family well-being laws pursuant to federal legislation “An Act respecting First Nations, Inuit and Métis children, youth and families.”

Marion brings knowledge of Indigenous research frameworks applying a decolonizing lens perspective.
