Pam Plain

Pam Plain, spirit name “White Cedar Bark Woman” comes from Aamjiwnaang First Nation.  She is eagle clan and Anishinabe ancestry.  Pam graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University with her Master’s of Socialwork; Aboriginal Field of Study in 2013.  She has been working in the socialwork field since 2006 in the areas of healing/trauma/grief; child welfare, protection and prevention; and  children/youth/adult mental health and addictions.  In her early years her main focus was on child development, as an Early Childhood Educator for 17 years. 

Pam has assisted clients with mental health and addictions issues, utilizing a wholistic approach to healing and helping with a two-eyed seeing approach. Based on Indigenous world view and premise that our cultural ways of helping and knowing are at the core of an individuals healing journey.  Pam has had many opportunities to learn from elders and cultural teachers in many forms and utilizes these epistemologies in her field of practice.

Since retiring in 2022 Pam has been providing private consulting services and started private counselling and consultation services.
