Truth and Reconciliation Day – September 30th 2025

At BMG Indigenous Services, we recognize Truth and Reconciliation Day as an important opportunity to reflect on Canada’s history of colonization and the on-going impacts to individuals and communities. It is a day to remember the tragic legacy of residential schools, to honour the survivors and their families, and to reaffirm our commitment to promoting reconciliation.

As an organization, our work with organizations incorporates the principles from The United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act as the framework for Reconciliation. Indigenous Elders and Traditional Knowledge Keepers guide us on the ethics of Reconciliation and the best ways of incorporating Indigenous knowledge systems as essential to the reconciliation process. Reconciliation requires political will, joint leadership, trust-building, accountability, and transparency.
