Our Team

Indigenous Services Associates
BMG Indigenous Services consultants are a blend of Indigenous and non-Indigenous professionals who bring a unique blend of knowledge, world views and expertise to our services. We bring to many projects a Two-Eyed Seeing Approach or Etuaptmumk (in Mi’kmaw) weaves together both Indigenous and Western knowledge and ways of knowing. Mi’Kmaw Elder Albert Marshall describes the process:
Two-Eyed Seeing is the gift of multiple perspectives treasured by many Aboriginal peoples. We believe it is the requisite Guiding Principle for the new consciousness needed … to enable Integrative, transcultural, transdisciplinary or collaborative work.

Elders, Knowledge Keepers and Cultural Advisors
Our projects involve Elders from the communities we are engaged with who bring their own unique experience, wisdom and support and offer leadership around broader community concerns in child and family well-being.
Elders are respected and revered persons who have a pivotal role in transferring cultural, traditional, and spiritual knowledge when working with organizations and communities.
Elders support our collaborative work by promoting cultural values, imparting traditional knowledge and offer guidance and teachings to our work in meaningful ways.
Community of Interest
BMG’s consulting practice is enhanced and strengthened by our Community of Interest (COI). COI members include partnerships with other consultants, semi-retired public and non-profit sector executives, elders, knowledge keepers and subject matter experts. COI members broaden the pool of expertise available to BMG and our constituents and participate on selected projects in consulting or expert advisor roles.
